Marcyo Bonefon contributed flamenco guitar on our number “Someone that You Will Love” and some of our other demos. Born in 1973 in Montevideo, Uruguay, he began his musical studies at home with his mother, a singer and guitarist. He also studied guitar, harmony, and jazz improvisation with his cousin Ricardo Soto Tucuta, alongside classical studies at the University of Music of Montevideo. Still in Uruguay, he accompanied renowned artists. In 1997, he moved to São Paulo, Brazil, where he studied at ULM Tom Jobim and performed with prominent figures in Brazilian music, such as Pepeu Gomes, Dom Beto, Vanusa, Toninho Ferragute, among others.

He began exploring flamenco as a self-taught musician, researching flamenco singing (cante) and guitar, and also took singing lessons with Talegón de Córdoba and other distinguished and well-known artists in the flamenco scene. He participated in the recording of two CDs with the flamenco guitarist Fernando de la Rua, who is based in Spain, playing fretless bass and performing in various theaters. He sang in numerous flamenco performances and theaters alongside national and international musicians and dancers (bailaores).

In 2011, he returned to Uruguay and collaborated with renowned musicians across various styles, including flamenco. He performed with Gonçalo Franco, with whom he opened for flamenco artist Tomatito at the Teatro Sodre. In 2016, he returned to Brazil, and in 2019, he was invited to participate in the opera La Vida Breve by Spanish composer Manuel de Falla in Belém do Pará, where he played guitar and sang.

To this day, he continues to be involved in various projects as a multi-instrumentalist musician, composer, singer, and musical arranger. He is also a member of the Alhambra Flamenco Art Company.
