“Day After Day” Update

Was working on “Day After Day” in today’s live songwriting session. Elizabeth gave a priceless contribution: “set-apart” to rhyme with “heart”. Here’s the result below:

So after the king sings the line, the repeat is going to be a round (also suggested by Elizabeth) wherein all 3 sing: Esther, the king, and Mordecai! So right now working on the logistics and the arrangement of the round. Might use the option #2 “day after day” melody to harmonize the round. This and also the melody for the harem is what I’m currently working on.

Update on melody of important chorus

Remember the chorus yesterday that was written? Still writing the melody for it! Ran through about a handful of melody options already and going to write a few more melodies before settling on the right one. The one I’ve just written has a lot of minor chords which sounds dark and uncertain, which is impactful, but I may want it to be more bright and contemplative, so am going to write a few more melodies and find the right balance.

Also, made some really cool friends who loved the Act 1 Finale! They expressed interest to stage it in their respective countries! So really wonderful of them and I am really honoured. You know who you are!

Meanwhile, here’s today’s before-and-after, from notepad to orchestra!
